About this Kite Area
Long Bay Beach runs along the south-eastern shore of Providenciales, and its defining feature is depth — or the lack of it. The water is waist-deep for miles over a clean sandy bottom, and at low tide you can wade out roughly a mile without swimming. A shallow sandbar removes the shore break entirely.
The wind season runs November to August, with more than ninety per cent of days rideable and the strongest conditions between May and August. It comes onshore to side-onshore off open ocean, unobstructed, which makes it smooth and stable rather than gusty — and means nothing carries riders out to sea.
There are no rocks, no current, no sea urchins and effectively no waves. Air runs 24 to 35°C and the water 23 to 29°C. Lessons, rental and accommodation are all on the bay, with Grace Bay and the airport fifteen to twenty minutes away.
