About this Kite Area

La Cinta at San Teodoro runs some three kilometres along Sardinia's north-east coast, with a designated kite zone in the middle of the beach and two schools operating on it.

The wind direction determines the day. A Mistral from the north-west produces flat water; Sirocco and Grecale build waves; a Libeccio makes it a spot for tricks. That range is why it works for beginners and for advanced riders at different times rather than at the same time.

The beach is busy through the summer — this is a popular stretch of coast well beyond kitesurfing — and quieter in the shoulder months. September brings the Extreme Fun Games.
