About this Kite Area
Punta Trettu sits on a shallow lagoon in the south-west of Sardinia, near San Giovanni Suergiu, and it is the island's flagship flat-water spot — described by the sources as the best in Sardinia and among the top handful in Europe.
The bottom is sand and the water stays shallow and flat regardless of wind direction, which is the rare quality here. Mistral from the north-west and Sirocco from the south-east are the optimal winds, with Levante and Libeccio also working. Together with nearby Porto Botte it records around nine windy days in ten across the year.
Riding is organised into designated kite zones, with boat areas off limits. It is genuinely accessible at every level, which combined with standing depth makes it one of the most efficient places in Europe to learn or to drill freestyle.
