About this Kite Area
Moulay Bouzerktoun sits about twenty minutes north of Essaouira and has a long reputation among wave sailors. The beach is rocky, and the spot is driven by swell — the sources give 1.5 to 3 metres between March and June.
Tide governs access. The spot is at its best on a rising tide, and both extreme high and extreme low water are to be avoided because of the rocks. Getting this wrong is the principal hazard here.
Wind and season follow the coast: north to north-easterly, 15 to 25 knots through April to September, peaking around 25 knots in high summer.
