About this Kite Area
Marina di Grosseto lies on the Maremma coast north of Talamone, backed by pine and fronted by shallow, flat water. It is beginner-friendly by nature — the bays here are shallow enough to make the learning curve gentler than most Italian coastal spots.
The wind is modest. Sources report north-easterlies averaging around 10 knots with gusts reaching about 22, and roughly ninety-nine days a year above 12 knots, with the most consistent months falling in winter — January, November and March — while summer offers lighter but warmer and more comfortable riding. Water runs from 9°C in winter to 26°C in summer.
Castiglione della Pescaia, immediately alongside, is one of the better-regarded beach towns in Italy and supplies the restaurants, bars and shops that the beach itself does not.
