About this Kite Area
Santa Verónica faces the open Caribbean beside the sheltered bay at Puerto Velero, and the contrast is the point: waves of one and a half to three metres, side-onshore wind, and a beach that suits experienced riders rather than learners. Salinas del Rey, along the same stretch, works the same way.
The season is the coast's — December to April, wind averaging around 30 knots and reaching 45 at the peak.
Being a few minutes from flat water makes this an unusually flexible base: the bay when it is too big, the beach when it is right.
