About this Kite Area
Kraalbaai lies at the northern end of the Langebaan lagoon, inside the West Coast National Park, and it is the most photographed part of the whole system — white sand, turquoise water and houseboats moored in the bay.
It shares the lagoon's conditions: shallow, flat, protected water on reliable force four to seven wind through the October-to-March season, peaking November to February. Air runs 24 to 26°C and the water is cold enough to want a wetsuit.
Because it sits inside a national park, access, opening hours and permitted activities are governed by park rules and can change. Confirm the current position before driving out, and note that the main kite schools and rental operate from the town side of the lagoon rather than here.
