About this Kite Area
Tatajuba lies west of Jericoacoara, reached across the dunes, and is one of the flat-water lagoons that give this coast its second character. The lagoon is shallow and glassy, with ocean beach and waves alongside it.
Most people come as a day trip by buggy from Jericoacoara or Preá, which is part of the appeal — the crossing over the dunes is half the experience. The season and wind are the region's: July to February, averaging around 17 knots, from the north-east through south-east.
Detailed local guidance on launches, depth and hazards at the lagoon itself is thin in the available sources and worth confirming with an operator or a school before going.
