Kite Area guide

Rewa, Hel Peninsula

Rewa sits across the bay from the peninsula, at the base of the Mewie Rewy sandbar — the spot people head for when the wind turns offshore elsewhere.

When to kite

Best months: April, May, June, July, August, September.

About this Kite Area

Rewa lies on the mainland side of the Bay of Puck, opposite the Hel Peninsula, and is the other half of the region's kitesurfing. Its distinguishing feature is Mewie Rewy — a sandbar reaching out into the bay that produces ultra-flat water in offshore wind, which is precisely the direction that rules out the peninsula beaches.

That complementarity is why the region works: between Rewa and the peninsula, most wind directions are rideable somewhere. Water is shallow and sandy as it is throughout the bay.

The season runs May to September, with the same unpredictable Baltic wind pattern and the same 4/3 wetsuit recommendation as the rest of the area.
