About this Kite Area
El Burro sits on the Flag Beach stretch of coast near Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, and it is the island's most organised place to ride: kite schools, rental and rescue facilities all operate here, and there is a designated zone for riders still learning.
Tide is the governing factor. The sources are clear that high tide is the safer state at Flag Beach and that low tide exposes reef — the reverse of the rule at most spots on this island, and worth knowing before you arrive.
Wind is the north-easterly Alisios, strongest between May and August. There is a car park close to the beach and easy access to the water.
