Praia de Cumbuco, Cumbuco

Best months: July, August, September, October, November, December, January.
About this Kite Area
Praia de Cumbuco is a long, wide ocean beach with ample room to rig, and the base most riders work from on this part of the Ceará coast. Trade winds blow 16 to 25 knots through the July-to-January season, steady enough that a single mid-size kite covers most riders for most of a trip.
Conditions on the beach are choppy across most of the tide and flatten out at low water. Riders wanting genuinely flat conditions take a buggy the five kilometres to Lagoa do Cauípe, and the beach is also the starting point for downwinders toward Taíba and Paracuru.
The spot suits every level, with schools and kite clubs along the beachfront. Confirm current launch areas and any local restrictions on the beach, and check the day's tide before planning a session.
