About this Kite Area
El Laguito lies at the tip of the Bocagrande peninsula, inside Cartagena, and is the most convenient riding area in the city — you can walk to it from a hotel. It is also the smallest.
The wind and season match the rest of the coast: trades of roughly 10 to 25 knots from December to April, side-onshore. The difference is the water, which carries more of a wave than the wide beaches north of the city, and the space, which is limited and can be busy.
Sources describe it as better suited to intermediate riders than to first-timers, who are generally sent to La Boquilla.
