Arpoador da Tutóia lies along the Maranhão coast east of Atins, and the sources describe it as a little-known spot that holds its appeal precisely because so few people go. Wide sandy beaches, big dunes, fishing huts serving fresh seafood, and a genuine sense of isolation.
Wind is steady at 18 to 28 knots. Water conditions vary with tide and position: moderate waves come through at high tide, suiting surf-style riding, while flatter water between the sandbanks gives good freeride zones.
The combination of strong wind and choppy conditions makes this technically demanding, and the sources place it as an advanced destination. Its real reward is distance — long downwind runs to neighbouring Maranhão beaches, in a landscape almost nobody else is riding.
